The second edition of the Great Chepsaita Cross country has overwhelmingly attracted 10,000 athletes competing in various categories in the 2024 edition happening on December 6th at Chepsaita in Uasin-Gishu County.
According to Barnaba Korir, the director of the competition, more athletes wanted to register for the competition but have been left out due to the already registered high number. He added that more than 15 countries have sent their athletes to the competition making the cross-country a world class event.

Speaking at an exclusive interview with Citizen Tv alongside world beaters Eliud Kipchoge, Faith Kipyegon and Legislator Boss Shollei, Korir stated that the run is for the course of supporting education for the young people.
1500m record holder Faith Kipyegon and Marathon legend Eliud KipchogeThe goal was reiterated by Eliud Kipchoge who said education must be supported to contribute to the growth of a nation while calling for discipline in the upcoming athletes. 1500m record holder and three times Olympic Champion Faith Kipyegon confirmed her presence during the competition as inspiration to other young athletes.

Hon. Boss Shollei who is the deputy speaker in the national assembly and woman representative for Uasin-Gishu county, praised the course and called upon like-minded stakeholders of sports to join such courses.
Chepsaita Cross country is patronized by Sir Kibet Farouk, an aidee to the President William Ruto.
